Dormer Loft Conversions

You can have a full dormer or half dormers to help to increase full head height and space in a property.

In a loft the use of a dormer window will help for numerous reasons:

• A bathroom can be incorporated into the conversion due to there being more full head height and space for the white goods to be installed.
• A dormer window can increase the space by a 3rd
• Dormers can also help when installing stairs as you need a certain amount of head height for them to be legal.

Dormer Loft Conversion in Scunthorpe

We extended this semi-detatched property to the side to increase space in the home.

This is first floor dormer extension

The existing loft space before the conversion takes place.

The existing roof is then removed to form the dormer window from the inside of the property.

The frame is filled in with the correct materials to make it insulated and sturdy ready for the installation of the windows.

The windows are put into place, the roof felted and tiled. New guttering and drainpipes have been put into place.

The finished exterior of the dormer window which has been painted white to the clients own specification.

Second Dormer Loft Conversion in Scunthorpe

We extended 2-story property increase space in the home.

Existing roof space before dormer loft conversion takes place.

The frame for the dormer window are in place and part of the existing roof has been removed allowing the dormer window to be exposed.

Scaffolding is up so that we are able to work on the exterior of the dormer window.

Sections are cut out of the frame to allow for the installation of the windows.

The exterior of the dormer window can then be felted and tiled, we have used hanging tiles to complete the outside of the dormer window.

The interior is insulated, plaster boarded and plastered ready for the clients own decoration which has been completed as you can see.
